7 Year Review: 2019 Camry SE 2.5L FWD
by James | on 10/2/2026 2:55:40 AM
I bought this car new back in 2019.
CONS:
-transmission does hesitate time to time if you slow down and then reaccelerate. The engine acts like it bogs down if you step on it. I am thinking it’s a result of the adaptive Transmission Control Module that learns your driving habits to maximize fuel economy.
-Apple Carplay is hardwired and sometimes the slightest bump of the wire disconnects.
-The factory Turanza tires ($425/piece) on it kept the road noise minimal but only last 25k miles. Replaced with a different tire and, the cabin noise is louder and people can’t hear me talk through the car audio at times
PROS:
-great fuel mileage. I have averaged over 40 mpg highway without cruise
-Toyota fixed any (potential) issues with it: driver window seal; fuel pump recall
-No issues with it not starting or being immobile.
-I enjoy the moon roof
-Driven in the snow up north and it does fine with the T/C and snow tires for being a FWD
It’s not perfect and there is bound to be issues as it ages and wears. Overall, it’s been a good car to me…

Retirement vehicle
by Todd | on 9/22/2026 3:01:16 PM
Purchased 2020 Camry) in Jan 2020.. this was to be our retirement vehicle and has not disappointed. We have owned Toyotas sense my first 1991 Tacoma truck and currently own 3 ( 2002 Tacoma, 2011 Rav4 and 2020 Camry XSE). Reliable, well built and if taken care ( oil changes ECT) will last until whenever it isn't needed any longer. My 2002 Tacoma has 314,000 miles and I still use it every week for my part time job ( 300-400 miles a week). Still gets the same mileage as when I purchased it. Same with the Rav and Camry. The Camry is our retirement travel vehicle and we drive it on our trips around the USA. Comfortable and the 42 mpg are cheaper to drive 2500 miles, than to fly!!
Thank you Toyota for a reliable, safe and comfortable driving experience. I highly recommend Toyotas to family and friends. So far, I know of 43 vehicles purchased over the years from our testimonies…

Awesome Car
by Todd | on 6/25/2026 10:16:28 PM
It is late June 2026. I bought this car new and I have had zero problems with this car except the speakers blew while it was still under warranty so I got them replaced for nothing. The gas mileage is exactly what it says, average 32 MPG mixed highway and city. The Toyota Care package I get from the dealer saves me tons of money on oil changes and they do an excellent job with the systems check that they do with the care package. I have had to do nothing to it except oil changes, regular maintenance as suggested by Toyota, tires and brakes. The sound system is excellent, JBL, the interior is comfortable and the seats are great. The ride is solid. I am giving this car to my daughter when she turns 16, I just may buy another one, same year or newer only in midnight blue for myself when I give it to her.…
